Memorial and tribute gifts to Washburn can celebrate a life, a friendship or an occasion. They are a meaningful way to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, honor friends or mentors, or memorialize a loved one while benefiting others far into the future. These gifts qualify as charitable donations and show lasting appreciation for an individual while benefiting the Washburn community.
A Memorial Gift is often given in lieu of flowers at the family’s request after a loved one passes away. The gift may be designated to a specific area on campus that was dear to the individual’s heart. An acknowledgment card with the name of the donor is sent immediately to the family letting them know of your gift while keeping the gift amounts confidential. A Tribute Gift is made in someone’s honor to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, holiday, retirement, or simply to acknowledge an individual’s strong commitment to Washburn University. The gift may be designated to the area of choice by the donor. A letter will be sent to the honoree notifying them of the gift and the area it will benefit.
